It’s devastating that in an age where we have so much positive video content in the world (including TED talks, documentaries, PBS, Khan Academy, etc.), we can’t create publicly funded educational courses that stream to inmates in their cells across the nation. Given the current high recidivism rates, these educational courses would more than pay for themselves as inmates learned life skills to thrive outside of prison.
