A question: How do you square avoiding the news in favor of books (a position I favor) with the need to actively help fix the present?

It’s true that Cicero and Marcus Aurelius read widely and wrote timeless texts, but isn’t it also true that they were highly involved in the political problems of their time? What does an informed activism look like in 2018?
